Offering fully sanctioned ASA sailing classes to both beginners
and
advanced students Norton Yachts is located in nearby
Deltaville. ASA credentials are recognized world wide and
enable certified sailors to charter sailboats at Norton's Sail
Charters or with major charter companies elsewhere.
Norton teaches on late model Hunter sailboat with inboard power
and
wheel steering. Boat sizes range from 28 to 34 feet. Norton
Sailing School will even teach students on their own boat from
the Tides Inn Marina if it is properly equipped.

for small boats plus the beach on one side for small boat sailing,
as well as the marina on the other side with the wide waters of the
Rappahannock River for big boat sailing.

No prior knowledge of sailing is needed.
You'll be exposed to different roles on the boat, including the
helm (driver) position.
Each class is made up of only 4 students and a Captain certified
in sailing instruction.
The keelboats are late model 30-36 feet in length with enclosed
head, cabin, galley, and large cockpit.
This is a great way to feel what it's like to be on a keelboat
in a fun, calm environment with a good instructor.

Kids, Teens & Families at Premier Sailing
Young people age 6-18 can take sailing lessons at their own pace
with stages from Introduction, Basics and Improvers to Advanced,
Pre-Instructor and Race Training.
Families can choose options designed to accommodate the children's
ages, how much time they'd like together, and what kind of sailing
(if any) is preferred after the sailing lessons.
Sailing For Groups
Groups can choose from team-building events, competitive racing,
or relaxing fun on the water. No prior experience is needed,
because the skippers are skilled at introducing new crews to the
basic tasks of sailing.
