Does Virginia Make the Best Viognier?
Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Virginia's signature grape is Viognier, and some say we're
producing the best Viogniers around. This week, we're tasting one
from Jefferson Vineyards, located a couple of miles from Thomas
Jefferson's Monticello. Most of the fruit comes from land
that Jefferson selected in the 18th century.
This one is a crowd-pleaser. With a straw color in the
glass, it has an expressive nose with tropical notes of peach,
nectarine, honeydew and mango, and a hint of pear lingering at the
finish. Fruity and delicious with food.
Join me for my Wednesday
wine tastings and discover something new. Cheers!
