Masterfully Carved Out of the Wooded Landscape

Opened for play in 1976, the Golden Eagle is a proud design of George W. Cobb. Carved out of the beautiful wooded landscape around a 50-acre lake, the Golden Eagle has many elevation changes and well placed bunkers for all skill levels. The Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass putting surfaces play to a par of 72. There are three major water hazards and the of particular interest are 5, 9, and 18. Seven and 16 can also play harder than par.

From the championship tees, the Golden Eagle is 7,025 yards and has a USGA rating of 73.9 and a slope of 136. The Golden Eagle is host to numerous USGA and PGA events.  From the Tides Inn, turn left onto Route 200 off of King Carter Drive. Go one mile then turn right onto Old Salem Road, aka Route 646.  Go 0.9 miles and turn left onto Clubhouse Road. Stay left and follow the hard surface road around; the Pro Shop is on your left.

Outings/Tournaments at the Golden Eagle Golf Club

When you want a fun, relaxing time on the golf course, you need look no further. The Golden Eagle is where your guests can enthusiastically enjoy their time together in a comfortable atmosphere. With an incredible 18-hole championship golf course, we make it easy to appeal to a diverse range of golfers.  Large groups or small groups, your guests are sure to comment on the fun they had at our course.

Lessons:
These private, one-hour golf lessons are available for $85 with the Head Golf Professional, $60 with staff. Junior lessons (under the age of 15) are available for $30 per half hour. Nine hole “Playing lessons” are available for $140 with Head Golf Professional, $115 with staff.
