Virginia Oyster Academy Program
Proudly located on the Virginia Oyster Trail, your day begins with a short lecture on the history of Virginia’s oyster industry, oyster ecology, and tools of the harvest. Participants will then accompany a traditional Virginia waterman by boat for a one-hour harvest excursion.
After the voyage, they will join the Tides Inn’s Executive Chef, TV Flynn, who will teach students the art of oyster shucking and how to expertly pair them with sauces and wine.
