Tides Classic Car Show Weekend 

It’s time for a summer road trip to the Tides Inn! Join us for the Tides Classic Car Show Weekend, July 22 – 24, 2016. Car enthusiasts will enjoy a weekend filled with road adventures, browsing classic cars of all ages, and “fueling up” with the signature bites from the Tides. Classic car owners are welcome to register and display their prized classic cars in the Sunday show.

Friday, July 22 | Tides Signature “Angry Oyster” Roast & Movie under the Stars

Welcome the weekend in Northern Neck style with an oyster roast and live music from 7 – 8 p.m. on the Tides Inn Chesapeake Terrace overlooking Carters Creek. Stay for an outdoor movie under the stars, featuring the classic, “Le Mans”. Dining is à la carte and entertainment is complimentary.

Saturday, July 23 | Tides Classic Northern Neck Road Tour

Throw back the rag top and ride through the coastal countryside of Lancaster County and beyond. Guests will be given route maps and can either join the caravan or travel at their leisure. The road tour includes morning and afternoon refreshments, and a picnic lunch served at Stratford Hall. Preregistration is required. The tour is 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per car.

Sunday, July 24 | Tides Classic Car Show

Greasers and hipsters, leather jackets and poodle skirts, the 1950s vibe will be in full effect. The Tides Classic Car Show on the front lawn of the Tides Inn will highlight cars from every decade. Guests can enjoy the show for free and car registrants are invited to enter for only $20 per vehicle. Entry fee includes two $10 food vouchers and a commemorative plaque. Car owners can register by calling (804) 438-4489.

Fun for everyone, the day will be rocking and rolling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live music, kids’ activities and more including a 1950s costume contest. The contest is open to all. First prize is a one-night stay for two at the Tides Inn and second place wins dinner for two at the Tides Inn Chesapeake Restaurant.


Our Sunset, Moonshine & Music experience has all the makings of a perfect summer night.  Revel in the splendor of the Chesapeake Bay with nearly a half mile of waterfront, dazzling sunsets over the marina, and good old fashion moonshine and live music.  

Not a moonshine fan?  You are in luck.  Our extensive wine list features some of the best wines from the Virginia Wine Trail and we also offer specialty drinks, like our signature Lancaster Lemonade and local craft beers.  Pair delicious cocktails with our Terrace Lite Fare every Friday and Saturday from 7:30 – 10:00 pm on the Chesapeake Terrace, and you have the Perfect Summer Night.

From picking herbs in the garden to preparing lemons for the Chesapeake Club’s most famous cocktail, learn techniques for making favorite drinks. $20 per adult (over 21) includes your own Lancaster Lemonade glass to take home.

Join the Executive Chef to learn how to handle the bounty of the bay…while picking up on additional tips that you can use at home. Available seasonally.

Carved out of the beautiful wooded landscape around a 50-acre lake, the course features exciting elevation changes and well-placed bunkers plus a driving range, clubhouse and complimentary golf clinics by the pros.

Little Eagle Golf

Are you interested in learning how to sail? Norton’s Sailing School”Intro to Sailing” is a hands-on, four hour experience. Also available for children – the instructors will teach the basics of sailing while enjoying time on the water.


Discover the rewarding sport of fly fishing in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Whether you’re a novice,  or want to learn the fine points of casting and fly tying, we will customize an outing perfect for you.


Enjoy the exhilaration of jet skiing on the Rappahannock River while also learning of the ecology of Carters Creek. Under the expert guidance of a tour leader you can have fun and be confident that a helping pair of hands is nearby. The Jet Ski Excursions is $125.00 and just $25.00 extra if you have a passenger; children, accompanied by an adult, ride free.


Choose your favorite type of watercraft, then stop by the Tides Inn Marina office for a map of Carter’s Creek, information on seasonal guided tours, and a list of the wildlife you can see around the peninsula.


Learn about the different types of vessels in the Marina and the variety of nautical activities available to guests. Or meet at the dock to test out your crabbing skills and learn special techniques for catching Blue Crabs.


The best way to see Irvington is from the water. Enjoy a Carter’s Creek cruise, taking in the scenery, wildlife and gorgeous homes while learning about the history of the town and its impact on the crabbing industry.

Enjoy the resort’s bikes for exploring historic Irvington. See the sights, stores, and the Steamboat Museum as you cruise through town. Stop by the Tides Inn’s front desk for a map or ask about a guided tour.

Journey of Teas
Learn the health benefits and proper preparation of the Tides Inn’s private-label teas, while enjoying the opportunity to sample special brews at the spa.

Classes include a variety of styles, from Restorative to Power Yoga, held in various indoor and outdoor locations.

Crab Net Kids
For kids age 4-12, the resort’s Crab Net Kids program offers supervised activities designed to inspire young vacationers.

Junior Golf Camps
3-day camps for junior golfers ages 8-14 who wish to acquire a strong foundation of knowledge and respect for the game. Morning youth clinics, lunch, and afternoon adult/youth clinics for kids to play with a parent or grandparent.

Junior Tennis Camps
A summer tennis experience for junior players ages 5-16 who want to excel in the sport while having fun and making new friends. Tennis etiquette, scoring, fundamentals of the swing and drills are scheduled in two-day and three-day camps led by our tennis pro.
