Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3pm

This fall, local brewers bring their varieties of craft beer to Chesapeake Bar. Brew masters will guide you through five pours of a range of brews to taste – includes a light appetizer. Our focus is breweries that utilize sustainable, locally grown Virginia ingredients.

$45 per person


Thursdays and Sundays at 3 pm

Learn how to create craft cocktails from our mixologists, who source liquors from local distillers. You will mix old classics and soon to be new favorites. In addition to sipping cocktails, you will enjoy chef curated appetizers. Thursday classes are in Fish Hawk, and Sunday classes are in the View Room.

WINE 101

Fridays at 3pm

Led by our wine expert or a local winemaker, Wine 101 is the ideal beginner’s course for wine terminology, varietals, regions and more. Sip and swirl as our wine expert works to demystify wine and make it the enjoyable, user-friendly beverage it truly is. This seminar, hosted in Chef’s Kitchen, includes a cheese pairing.

Saturdays at 4pm

Virginia is the birthplace of American made spirits with the first batch of whiskey distilled in 1620. In Chef’s Kitchen, experience a tasting of four different styles of whiskey – two of which you can only find here at the Tides Inn (barrel-select bourbon from A. Smith Bowman and Copper Fox), accompanied by a house made snack.
